ScrewDriver https://setuprobotics.com/product/screwdriver/ Mon, 13 Dec 2021 20:07:22 +0000 http://newwebsite.setuprobotics.com/?post_type=product&p=947 ToolBases.]]> The SetupRobotics screwdriver charges an internal battery bank during spare time moving to and from the screw dispenser and doing other tasks. Therefore no extra cables are needed.

The ScrewDriver uses the ToolBase vacuum for screw pick-up, therefore in addition to steel screws it’s also possible to pick non magnetic screws in stainless steel, brass and other. Feedback to the robot is screw presence (vacuum level) and also screw torque was obtained at end. The two signals are separated when using MODBUS communication. The screwing task setup is done directly on the screwdriver via a LCD keypad.

ToolBase Single https://setuprobotics.com/product/toolbase-single/ Mon, 13 Dec 2021 19:41:54 +0000 http://newwebsite.setuprobotics.com/?post_type=product&p=928 SetupRobotics makes ultra fast production switch.
The stemcell in all SetupRobotics products is the ToolBase. The introduction of cobots made it simple to use robots but it is still complicated to configure all different tools. Attempts have been made with tool changers including all signals going to the back of the robot solving all different tasks.
The patent behind the ToolBase only having two valves is extremely simple:-Vacuum gripper: One valve makes vacuum, the other makes the release blow.-Finger gripper: One valve opens, the other closes.-Dispenser: One valve dispenses the other back-suck to prevent dripping.
Every tool has a key that tells the ToolBase what to do. Upon closing the quick coupling the tool is configured. No special apps, no wiring or other. Everything is handled by the ToolBase.
Any tool can be activated from the same single output and feedback is given to a single input.
The patented ToolBase detects which tool is fitted and handles all the technical details.
 • Energy: 24V, compressed air, vacuum.
 • Signals: control, feedback, data communication
 • Mechanics: Strong quick coupling with precise positioning
The range of tools is continuously expanding:
 • Pneumatic 2 and 3 finger grippers
 • Suction grippers
 • Pneumatic magnetic grippers
 • Electric magnetic grippers
 • Glue and seal Dispensers
 • Screwdrivers
 • Bottle gripper
 • UV curing lamp

Vacuum gripper adapter G1/8″ https://setuprobotics.com/product/vacuum-adapter-g1-8/ Wed, 01 Dec 2021 12:51:41 +0000 http://newwebsite.setuprobotics.com/?post_type=product&p=837 This is the Vacuum Adapter G1/8″ needed for Vacuum/Suction Gripper.
(A Vacuum Adapter is included when buying Vacuum Grippers)

A suction gripper is a simple yet effective gripper for handling of items.

By having the atmospheric pressure applied to the surface of an item and the pressure removed inside the suction gripper a clamping force is generated.

With our large range of vacuum/suction Grippers the opportunities are endless.

There are many advantages using a suction gripper:

• Enormously selection of different types from many sources.
• Low cost
• No adjustments
• Grip directly on item surface. (no space needed for gripper fingers)
• Items can be placed close together.
• Gently handling yet very powerful.

Vacuum generation
The Toolbase uses an industrial standard venturi pump delivering 85% vacuum and a flow of 6 l/min.

Feedback
The ToolBase measures the pressure inside the suction gripper. When the pressure is below a predefined level the ToolBase signals back to the robots an item is grapped.

Pick & Place timing:
This venturi principle of vacuum generation is way faster than electrical motor based vacuum pumps therefore the reaction time is typically a few milliseconds in comparison to the 300 milliseconds or more to what motor based pump uses.
Also at place the ToolBase is fast as a release blow is generated directly into the suction cup. In comparison many electrical suction grippers only releases to neutral pressure resulting in a long delay before the robot can move away after a place.

CASE: Timing cost:
A robot cell handles 1 item every 1 minute for one year at a cell cost of $100/hour and a vacuum/release generation time of 0,5 second the year cost is: $7300
Typical electrical vacuum gripper cost: (365 * 24 * 60 * 0.5) *($100 / (60*60)) = $7300
Typical venturi vacuum gripper cost: (365 * 24 * 60 * 0.1) *($100 / (60*60)) = $1460

Yearly savings: $7300 – $1460 = $5840

*Must be mounted on our ToolBases.

Dispenser https://setuprobotics.com/product/dispenser/ Wed, 01 Dec 2021 12:24:30 +0000 http://newwebsite.setuprobotics.com/?post_type=product&p=831 The ToolBase dispenser works with standard syringes and tips from EFD and others. The dispense flow is controlled by setting the feed pressure on the dispenser. To stop flow again a back suction is performed. The ToolBase measures the pressure inside the syringe at back-suction, securing filled and almost empty cartridges end at the same level and are ready for the next path.

A capacitive sensor can be mounted on the syringe to monitor the level to feedback to robot if it is not possible to get the feedback from a stationary sensor the robot passes by.

 • Coupling compatible with EFD 30cc / 55cc syringes.
 • Dispense pressure adjustable 0.6bar.
 • Pressure monitored suck-back. (no dripping)
 • Optional capacitive fluid level sensor

*Must be mounted on our ToolBases.
